Very impressive website, great photos. I visited your website because I have been clearing out my shed and found a framed architect's plan of Puttenham Priory. It is quite old but not dated, I would say about 1900 or older maybe. It is the ground floor plan and shows for example smoking room, butler's pantry, boilers and coke room etc. so this could be some indication of date. Scale 8 feet to  1 inch. I have had it for some years, can't remember where I bought it from, may have been auction. I was going to re-use the frame, but thought you might be interested in it.
Sorry to hear about the green and red paint! Sounds horrible, epecially as the interior design looks superb in the photos.
Look forward to hear your reply.

Hi:
I was wondering if you could help me solve a puzzle ?
Tracing family history to Puttenham , it seems the original name was de Harcourt and was changed to de puttenham after the conquest . Ironically the Puttenham Priory was owned by the Harcourts , was wondering why some family members changed the last name to de puttenham ?
thanks in advance

I lived in Putnam from some time in the late 60's (1968 i think) till 1973 in Hurland's children's home, just outside the village and went to the local primary school. I would love to hear more about that place and anyone who lived or worked there durng that period. I last paid a visit to Putnam in 1984 and briefly visited Hurland's which had been converted into private residencies of some sort. Thanks for any effort you may make, and keep up the good work!

Will be visiting Puttenham in the next few months and hope to find places like Clears(Clairs)Barn and Monk Grove.Would like to visit the church too, as many Marshall Baptisms,Marriages and Burials took place there. delighted to have found your site. I lived in Puttenham when I was very little, in otherwords a long time ago. 1944. We lived in a cottage called Farm Cottage. It was very old and was I think, right on the Pilgrims way. My mother told me it was an old brew house for the monks???? It may have had a secret room in the chimney. The stairs were inside a cupboard. The americans drove tanks right past our front gate but thats all I know. Anyone recognise it? I'd love to see a picture of it as I have no memory of the outside. regards annie

A very wonderful window on your world Simon. Thanks so much for sharing it with me. I only wish it were easier to get there to visit. My location is Melbourne Beach Florida , a small town about 30 miles south of Cape Canaveral . My house is about 1200 ft. from the water where it is possible to swim year round. The water temp is now about 83 deg. and goes down to 68 or so in the winter [not really much of a winter] Thanks again ; your site is fantastic!!! Bill Gallo KG4OOQ

Simon, what a lovely village you live in. Thanks for the interesting pictures. Also enjoyed meeting you on the air today--thanks for the special call to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee (here's to her breaking Victoria 's record!). If you want to finish all states drop by the county hunters net on 14.336. Best wishes-- Richard KW0U St. Paul MN USA

Hi Simon, I was going through some of my qsl cards and ran across yours. I looked you up in QRZ.com and found your web pages. You have done a great job with it. It is very interesting to see you village. I was particularly interested in the Pub. I would have pictured it to be more simple. A place where the villagers meet to talk to eachother and be entertained. I suppose that it is still that way. Thanks for the look at your home land. 73's from WØBDR Bernie Reese USA
